Mestre Julio Camacho |

My Si Fu Julio Camacho |
During one of the talks after the practice of the Ving Tsun Experience, my Si Fu Julio Camacho asked two novice practitioners to present thoughts about what they had had contact with until then, putting himself available to clarify their inquiries. Both were interested in the peculiar referential terminology that structures the nature of our family and brought to the small colloquy doubts regarding the etiquette of reverence towards the Si hing and Si Fu himself (Chinese terms respectively associated with the notions of older siblings and father in a most superficial transliteration).
Then my Si Fu addressed the importance of the word respect through its etymology, with great emphasis on the pure meaning of re-espectare, making us realize its importance for a full and appropriate martial attitude to all moments of life. Respect, from the etymological point of view, can be understood a
s that second, closer look at situations, places and people. So the more we develop a martial look for daily life, the more attentive we become to all its nuances.
Being in a constant state of guard, always alert to the relevant or not facts of our day to day, is in certain way to respect life. In times of virtual dispersion, it is very common to see in varied moments and in forms people who do not respect environments or relationships because of inattentive attitudes. The practice of Ving Tsun and the development of Kung Fu life has allowed me to stay more connected to the surrounding world, keeping myself alert and relaxed so that I don’t lack respect to what I propose myself in my life.
